Principal's Report
Hello to Families and all in the St Joseph's School Community,
Wow! What a way to finish Term Three!!! Congratulations to each and every student who helped to make our school performance, "QUEST - A NEW HERO IN FANTASYLAND", such a bright and happy experience. Many students were pushed beyond their comfort zone and I hope they have grown a little from the roles they played. Students are commended for learning their lines, whether they were few or many, and for contributing to the singing and acting.
A special thank you to Mrs Fitzpatrick, Mrs Lanyon and Mrs Wright for some very special props and face paint! Many thanks to Kelvin for videoing the performance for us - we can't wait to watch it back! Thank you to all staff for helping to prepare the students at rehearsal each day and for the contributions they made in various ways. A super team effort!
I will let families know when the video recording of the play is available and how it can be accessed. A huge thank you to each family for providing the wonderful costumes and for your attendance to support your children on performance night.
The whole school attended Mass this morning to celebrate the end of term and the conclusion of this term's units of study. The theme of the Mass was STORY. It has been rewarding to watch many students add to their story since I commenced at St Joseph's at the start of the 2023 school year. I am sure many new chapters are just around the corner!
The F-2 Class enjoyed an excurson to Lake Wooroonook today, where they met up with the Junior students from St Mary's Donald. Both classes have been studying Fairy Tales this term and this was an amazing opportunity to join together and compare notes!
At assembly this afternoon, Clancy and Harry, our term leaders, delivered their leadership speeches. They were both insightful and showed their understanding of the role they played during the term. Congratulations to both boys for their speeches and for their efforts throughout Term Three.
Good luck to the u/12 and the women's hockey teams who are playing in the grandfinal on the weekend. Play hard, play fair and lets hope you are the best team on the day!
Best wishes to you all for a safe and restful holiday time. It will be fantastic if the beautiful Spring weather continues. Enjoy!
FOOTY COLOURS
Tomorrow students are invited to wear their favourite football team's colours. Alternatively, students may wear their favourite sports gear or casual clothes.
STUDENTS WILL NOT REQUIRE LUNCH - THE SCHOOL WILL PROVIDE A SAV IN A ROLL AND A JUICE BOX FOR LUNCH TOMORROW (no cost). Please pack your own lunch if you do not like savs!
TERM FOUR STAFFING
Mr Jason Whatnall returns from long service leave to commence Term Four in the F-2 Classroom. We look forward to welcoming him back to St Joseph's School.
This week we have had the opportunity as staff, students and families to show our gratitude to Mrs Anderson for her contribution to St Joseph's during Terms two and three. Thanks so much, Anne, and best wishes for the future.
